Active Chapters Chapter Structure Rights & Responsibilities Forming Chapters
All characters must have a Fundamental Log of every Heroic Event-Day earned, including the date and location of any awarding chapters.
There are three types of Event-Days in Heroic: Public, Private, and Virtual.
A Heroic Public Event-Day may only be awarded for a roleplaying activity between four and twenty-four hours in length, that is announced and posted on the Heroic National Site/Calendar at least two weeks before the event, and is open to all Heroic members. There can be campaign restrictions, Level limits, etc... according to Campaign and Plot. But any member can play with a PC that meets those requirements, or at least can NPC if they do not have (and do not wish to make) a PC that meets the campaign restrictions. Any given event of multiple Public Event-Days in length must span at least twenty-four hours per Public Event-Day beyond the first, plus at least four hours (not all of that time is required to be In-Game time, per local policy, but roleplaying activities must take place in at least four hours per additional twenty-four hours of the event (beyond the first Event-Day), plus the first four hours of the initial Event-Day, and including at least the last four hours of the Event.) Dates for the log of Event Days consider the Event Day to have taken place on the calendar day it began in. (So, for example, a "standard" LARP weekend from 7PM Friday to Noon on Sunday counts as two Event-Days, Friday and Saturday. To count as a third day, Sunday, roleplaying activities would have to continue until later than 11PM on Sunday, with members spending at least four hours In-Game between 7PM and 11PM on Friday, at least four more between 11PM Friday and 11PM Saturday, and at least four final hour hours ending after 11PM Sunday.) No Member may earn more than one Public Event-Day per date, with multiple characters or the same character.
A Virtual Event-Day is awarded for organizational activities which are not connected to actual presence at events. On the first day of any month, one "Membership" Virtual Event-Day is awarded to the designated primary character of all Members. On any day, a Member may pay 50 SHP to award one "Superhero" Virtual Event-Day to any of their characters that did not get the "Membership" Virtual Event Day on the first day of that month. On any day, a Member may pay 50 HP to award one "Hero" Virtual Event-Day dated on the present day (if it is a Thursday), or on the immediately preceding Thursday (if it is any other day), to any of their characters that does not already have such a Hero Virtual Event-Day on the present or immediately preceding (as appropriate) Thursday. No character may earn more than one "Membership" or "Superhero" Virtual Event-Day per calendar month, nor more than one "Hero" Virtual Event-Day per calendar week.
Any Event-Day which does not meet the requirements for a Public Event-Day or a Virtual Event-Day is considered a Private Event-Day. This includes invite-only mods and AO events, as well as In-Between Game Actions, Plot Submissions, Roleplay Sessions, etc... No Character may earn more than two Private Event-Days per calendar month. No Character may earn a Private Event-Day on any date in which that Character already earned a Public Event-Day or a Private Event-Day.
The award of Event-Days might not result in the player immediately having access to skills or other abilities purchasable as the result of Event Days, particularly during an ongoing Event. Logistics Managers have a reasonable period of time to process Event-Days awards before the player can expect to have access to abilities or powers acquired via Event Days. Unreasonable delays should be referred to the Head of Plot or Chapter Director responsible for the Event.
It is possible to create a character blank, or “blob” character, which can earn Event-Days before entering play. Such a character is entered into the database with a name, and may have Race/Class/Culture choices (or similar identifying traits to a campaign), and may have Event-Days translated to XP (or a similar mechanism) on a Campaign Character Sheet, but none of this XP may be spent, or skills purchased, or any sort of character development connected to perks earned via Event-Days, for the character. So long as the character is not played at any game, in any campaign, and no XP is spent, skills are purchased, or any similar character progression choices are made connected to Event Days (or anything resulting from Event Days) the character is considered to not have entered play, and the character concept, as well as name, Race, Class, and Cultures (or other similar identifying characteristics chosen) may be changed. Once character progression choices are made, or the character is played at an event, the character enters the normal flow of play, ceases to be treated as a blank or "blob", and any changes to the character sheet occur according to the normal rules mechanisms.
The Fundamental Character Log must record every Dissipation and/or Permanent Death by the character, with date, location, and campaign/game noted.
All characters must have a character sheet for every campaign attended, current as of the last time that campaign was attended, and this character sheet may only be altered via mechanisms internal to that campaign.
All characters have a unique ID number assigned to the character by Heroic for the purposes of tracking the character. This ID number remains the same regardless of any changes to campaign, name, race, appearance, class, or any other identifying traits of the character.
The Campaign Rules Council (or other appropriate Rules authority) for any campaign in Heroic is responsible for setting (and publishing) their standards for how a Heroic character coming into their campaign will generate a character sheet and identifying traits for that campaign. This includes assigning meaning to Event-Days and character Dissipations and Permanent Death.
